The lowest-crowd, best-value windows are mid-January to early February, late August to mid-September, and the first two weeks of November. Avoid major school holiday weeks for the lowest waits.
Bring a power bar (Disney ships allow non-surge protected ones), magnetic hooks for the stateroom doors, a lanyard for your Key to the World card or MagicBands/DisneyBands, and a refillable water bottle.
Use a credit card with no foreign transaction fees when sailing to international ports, since onboard charges are in USD. Tipping at Walt Disney World is standard (18–20% sit-down dining). On Disney Cruise Line, gratuities are pre-paid and recommended at $16.00 USD/guest/night.
